Service to the Community
Florida State University's Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter strives to eliminate substandard housing. As an organization guided by both our local affiliate and the Youth Programs department within Habitat for Humanity International, we take a four pillared approach to address the broad spectrum of housing issues that impact our local and global community:
- Building: to build and rehabilitate homes in partnership with Habitat homeowners locally, nationally, and internationally
- Fundraising: to support the work of Habitat for Humanity International and local affiliates
- Advocacy: to increase awareness and influence policies that affect housing on a systemic level
- Education: to educate others on our campus and in our local communities about the impact of homeownership and the need for decent, safe, and affordable housing
Through the comprehensive integration of these four pillars, we uniquely engage youth in making a lasting difference in the lives of their peers, their campus, and their local and global community.
